Why do I wander in these streets?
.
There is no goal I am looking for,
May be I am looking for
A hope
On these unknown faces,
May be I am looking for
A Direction
That takes me to unknown places,
Or may be I am just looking for
An escape
Running from the known spaces

Another night has passed
Starry sky
A glittering firefly,
Endless desires
Just passed by
.
Rolling over the bed
Restless heart,
And closed lips
Hummed a lullaby
.
Yet another night
When I thought of you,
My helpless eyes
Forgot to sigh
What I ask for..
A little peace
What I ask for…
A few more smiles
And a laugh for a while
A better world
What I ask for….
A few more good deeds
And a hand who feeds
A greater justice
What I ask for….
A little more honesty not to miss
And where ignorance is no more a bliss
A promised land
What I ask for….
A little joy on each face
Where I can’t find the sorrows to trace
One spark is enough
One spark is enough
To leave the bed early today
And run parallel to the rising sun
To make mundane things magical
And feel alive with every breath
One spark is enough
To take the road less traveled by
And experience the unexpected
To become what you always wanted to be
And accept what you are
Because,
No matter how loud your inner voices are
Telling you to quit
One spark is enough
To restart the ultimate fire within
Critically endangered (Womanhood)
Again and again
She stands for what is right
She argues and fight
And
Sometimes she cry and wail
For she couldn’t come out of the jail
And
She burst into anger
With grief and pain
Shouting into deaf ears
She’d become insane
.
Earlier the vulnerable
Have now become endangered
Her identity
The womanhood
.
Her desires are burned
Her principles are churned
And
The world
In which they say she is getting equality
They don’t know she was even getting her freedom as a charity

My best travel companion
And there I was again
With her,
Sharing her anxiety
Before the beginning of the journey
Sharing her amusement
Seeing the first sunrise from a moving bus
Sharing her courage
To explore all the new places
.
And there I was again
With her,
Sharing her excitement
To share smiles and food with new people
Sharing her curiosity
To look at the world from a hill
Sharing her passion
To witness all the beautiful sunsets
.
And there I was again
With Myself ( my best travel companion), Sharing a watermelon juice, a cheeky smile, a stupid fight, a pep talk, a room with lizard, a morning chai, a cycle ride and a walk in the paddy field
.
Little did she know.
She looked down
And found
A flow of glory
Honouring her womanhood.
Little did she know
At that age
That the armour for this glory
Comes in opaque packets
Has to be hidden in pockets
And there is no pride even disclosing it.
Little did she know
At that age
That her favourite temple where she finds peace
Will restrict her entry
And during the celebration of divine feminine energy
She’ll be untouched and isolated.
Little did she know
At that age
That this mark of “true” womanhood is
Accompanied with cramps, headaches, mood swings, tears and unfathomable fears.
Little did she know
At that age
That this honour is not so honoured,
Not so spotless
That even after all the pain and suffering
She can’t even utter her feelings
.
Little did she know
At that age
About her power. Period.
(Not a)Girl next door
Somewhere between retaining “character” and being a free spirit
I climbed few hills to know my identity
It’s always been the same
I try to give up just before reaching the top
But I drag
Myself furiously
Just for that one moment
I get on the top
.
It’s always been the same
I try to live a life of girl next door
But I open
The doors furiously
Just for that one breath
I get under the sky
.
I hate moving
Cunningly
I hate the hidden smiles
I prefer
to laugh out loud
It’s always been the same
I try to hide my desires inside
But I cry
Out loud
Just for that one flight
I get for free
