Little did she know.

She looked down
And found
A flow of glory
Honouring her womanhood.
Little did she know
At that age
That the armour for this glory
Comes in opaque packets
Has to be hidden in pockets
And there is no pride even disclosing it.
Little did she know
At that age
That her favourite temple where she finds peace
Will restrict her entry
And during the celebration of divine feminine energy
She’ll be untouched and isolated.
Little did she know
At that age
That this mark of “true” womanhood is
Accompanied with cramps, headaches, mood swings, tears and unfathomable fears.
Little did she know
At that age
That this honour is not so honoured,
Not so spotless
That even after all the pain and suffering
She can’t even utter her feelings
.
Little did she know
At that age
About her power. Period.
